Kaulana Nā Pua

Kaulana Nā Pua, written by Ellen Kehoʻohiwaokalani Wright Prendergast is a mele (song) which holds special significance for the Native Hawaiian people. It was composed as a protest against the annexation and overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom on January 17. 1893.
